Police in Georgetown are investigating after an attempted carjacking early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 5 a.m. near the campus of Georgetown College at a four-way stop at Hamilton and Clayton. Police say an employee of the college was on her way to work when a man with a knife tried to open the rear passenger door.
Police say the woman was able to lock her doors and get away before the man, who was wearing a mask, was able to get into the car.
A campus safety alert was issued following the incident. Police are continuing to investigate.
