The Cats with a 4-4 road record in the SEC needed a win to help their NCAA resume.
When it comes to offense, it looked like Georgia was trying to keep the score down. Georgia leads 5-4 at 15:44, the first TV time out.
Jarrod Polson comes in and makes something happen. Nice dish to Archie Goodwin who hits a three. UK goes up 9--5
The offense doesn't seem to come easy for either team. At the TV timeout with 7:49 to go, UK leads 16-15.
Freshman Charles Mann makes a strong drive to the bucket. Ryan Harrow picks up his second foul with 7:09 to go. The three point play gives Georgia an 18-16 lead.
Jon Hood who got more playing time because Willie Cauley-Stein, Archie Goodwin and Ryan Harrow were on the bench with two fouls makes a nice move for a layup to make it 25-24 Georgia.
UK is awful from downtown while Georgia is hot. It's the difference in the first 20 minutes.
UK is 1-9 for 11%. Georgia is 5-9 for 56%.
Kantavious Caldwell-Pope hits a three that beats the buzzer to give Georgia a 31-26 lead at the half.
Ryan Harrow with a turnover with he steps out of bounds. Georgia then gets a huge dunk from John Florveus to make it 37-31 Georgia.
Georgia was outplaying UK, and they continued to shoot a high percentage. Nemanja Dujurisic hits one from from downtown. Georgia leads 42-34. They have hit 6 of 12 from downtown.
UK puts in a little run. Kyle Wiltjer hits a three to cut the Georgia lead to 50-47. But UK was only 5 of 12 from the free throw line.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with a huge dunk to make it 58-47. Georgia was back in control. Pope finished with a game high 24.
UK could not shoot from downtown. They hit 6 of 26 for 23%
Georgia was terrifc from downtown hitting 7 of 15 for 46%.
UK has a problem making free throws. They were 10 of 18 for 55%.
Georgia hit 27 of 37 free throws for 79%.
Archie Goodwin led UK with 20.
Georgia wins 72-62.
