Head basketball coach Happy Osborne is leaving Georgetown College to join the staff at Tennessee Tech.

Osborne achieved tremendous success in fifteen seasons as the Tigers' head coach. He amassed 456-84 record and led Georgetown the 1998 NAIA national title. He made it to the NAIA fab four three other times - including last season - and was named Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year six times.

Osborne will join former Georgetown assistant Steve Payne's staff at Tennessee Tech, where he will be the associate head coach.

"When you think of a Georgetown College ambassador, you think of Happy Osborne. His success is unparalleled within collegiate basketball circles. He will be greatly missed. The Davis-Reid-Osborne coaching legacy has built a NAIA basketball powerhouse." Georgetown President William H. Crouch, Jr. said in a statement released by the school.

Georgetown has recently explored leaving the NAIA and competing athletically in Division-III.
