Kentucky is not allowed to announce any coaching hires until next week because jobs need to be posted for a certain amount of time. But, there were two new coaches at UK's practice today.

Rick Minter who would be in line to be the co-defensive coordinator with Steve Brown. Also at practice on Saturday was Steve Pardue, who has developed a number of successful players who moved on to UK while he was the head coach at LaGrange High in Georgia.

Joker used to work for Minter when he was the head coach at Cincinnati. Minter led UC from 1994 through 2003. He was 53-63-1. Depending on who you talk to, some believe he did a good job considering there wasn't a lot of money in the budget for assistant coaches, and the facilities were lacking.

Pardue is a good friend of Joker's.

A smiling Joker had to dance around the topic after Saturday's practice.

"We got some temp, temp guys in here working right now," says Joker. "Some high paid temp guys but we'll talk about that at the necessary time."

UK is expected to announce assistant coaching hires next week.
