Our heat wave is heading toward historic proportions with Thursday being the 8th straight day of 95 degrees or hotter.
Only 4 other heat waves have done that in Lexington's weather history and the last one was in 1953! It looks like we're heading for days 9 and 10 of this current stretch which would put us in the top 2 for heat wave longevity with those records going back to 1936!
The Heat Advisory continues on Friday with a mostly sunny sky and a high of a record breaking 100 (old record is 97).
