Steady was the name of the game in the latest AP high school basketball polls, with the first six spots unchanged from last week in the boys' poll, and only minor shuffling in the girls' rankings.
Trinity, Bullitt East and Ballard were 1-2-3 in the boys' poll, with Madison Central still sitting in fourth. The Indians knocked off then No. 8 Henry Clay 78-63 on Jan. 29, but fell to top-ranked Trinity 75-62 a few days later.
The Blue Devils slipped one more spot to ninth with the loss to Madison Central. Henry Clay also dropped a 66-53 decision to Christian Brothers College from Missouri.
Scott County regained a little ground with wins over Bryan Station (75-61) and Sayre (64-51), jumping up a couple of spots to No. 7.
Montgomery County (21-4) continues to lurk just outside of the top-10. The Indians picked up victories over Mason County (64-52) and Scott (66-51).
Undefeated Marion County remains in complete control of the girls' poll, with Anderson County continuing to chase in No. 2.
The Bearcats knocked of Montgomery County 66-50 and followed that up with a 66-33 win over Shelby County to extend its win streak to 15 straight. But until Marion County stumbles, Anderson County will likely stay stuck behind the powerhouse Lady Knights.
Marion County has outscored its opponents at an average 72-37 clip.
Madison Central moved up to fourth behind Henderson County, flip-flopping spots with Ballard. The Lady Indians earned a 49-46 overtime win over a tough Clay County squad, and then got a 66-61 victory over Lafayette.
