A fire destroyed an historic barn in Jessamine County early Thursday morning.

The blaze broke out around midnight along Harrodsburg Road. The barn and cabin it was attached to were built more than 200 years ago. The first Jessamine County judge lived there at one time. The home was actually older than the barn, which was added on at some point.

Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours. The barn collapsed and the cabin also sustained some damage.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
