After this morning's deluge we're now sitting at 13th place on Lexington's all time wettest days list.
All of the rain fell in roughly 3 hours from near 6:30 to about 9:30 and at one point the official rain gauge at the Blue Grass Airport received 2.3" of rain in just 1 hour!
We've got more rain possible today as a nearly stationary front is draped across Kentucky with a very moist tropical airmass providing the fuel. Any of the rain that occurs today can be locally very heavy, and if it occurs in places that saw the heavy rain today, more substantial flooding is possible. There's a very good chance that Lexington will crack the top 10 wettest days list today.
The flipside to this is a big chunk of the area has seen very little rainfall, so flooding is not nearly as serious a concern as it is around Lexington and some places in southeastern Kentucky that also saw some heavy rain this weekend.
