Apparently Jon Hood doesn't listen to Coach Cal's radio show. When asked Wednesday about Cal's comments that he looked like Rex Chapman in practice, he said this.

"He said that?"

Yes, Jon, he said that. Hood might not have heard his coach's compliment, but he knows where it came from.

"I got hot the other day in practice. I got really hot," said Hood.

"I hit a couple shots in a row. They all stopped and told me to do it in the game."

That's Cal and his teammates. Everyone was screaming 'do it in the game!' Hood showed those guys he can do it, now he just has to believe it. He says even just talking about it gives him confidence.

"It does. Coach says sometimes our practices will be our hardest games so we'll see," said Hood.

So Jon looked like Chapman in practice, but Rex had something extra special, the ability to jump out of the gym.

"Someone has actually said that to me, but I've seen the video before the games and he can get up there."

This is the one thing, though, that Hood does seem confident about. He's got hops too.

Reporter: Do you get respect for your hops?

"No I don't," said Hood.

Reporter: Bothers you?

"Yeah it does."

Reporter: Should you get respect?

"Yes I should."
