Police say a Hospice patient was the victim of a robbery early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say the victim told them a person he knew came to visit him at his apartment on Trent Boulevard around 2:20 a.m. and then demanded items. When the victim refused, the suspect beat him up and stole the items. Investigators say they cannot release many details due to HIPPA concerns.

The victim was checked out at the scene. He suffered minor injuries, and his mother took him to the hospital.

Police have not released any information on the suspect.
