Our round of late August hot & steamy weather will blanket the Commonwealth for yet another day as we hit the middle of the week. Wednesday will end up partly sunny, muggy and hot with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees with the heat index in the mid 90s. Although we have a strong ridge of high pressure to our south keeping active weather tamped down we will see a cool front drop through overnight into early Thursday morning. A few late day and overnight showers and storms are possible- especially over eastern Kentucky this evening.
That front will push back north as a warm front late in the week which means the heat keeps simmering through the weekend with highs around 90 degrees Thursday through Saturday. Late weekend showers and storms are brewing with a shot of cooler, much less muggy air building in for early next week.
