After a shot of weekend rain that put a hefty dent in the drought we'll settle into a more summery pattern with hot, muggy & sunnier afternoons and a chance for a few t-storms each day. Monday through Wednesday will see highs around 90 and climbing into the low to mid 90s by mid week. The high heat & humidity combo will push the heat index up to or over 100 degrees over the next few days. We'll also be ripe for a few pop-up showers and storms each afternoon capable of frequent lightning, gusty wind and heavy rain.
A cool front will approach late Wednesday and cut across the state bringing us our best chance for more widespread showers and storms Thursday. Highs will still top out in the upper 80s later in the week.
