Firefighters in Georgetown continue to battle a house fire.

The blaze broke out around 4 a.m. in a home along Hamilton Street. Heavy smoke was still pouring from the second floor at 5 a.m. Firefighters say they are working to make sure the flames don't spread to neighboring homes.

Neighbors say the house stood vacant for about seven years, and somebody recently moved in. The person who lived there was apparently not home at the time, and there were no reported injuries.

Firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire.
