A nasty crash in Madison County shut down northbound lanes of I-75 for several hours Wednesday night.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. near mile marker 83, between Richmond and Berea. A car and semi collided, and the car ended up lodged underneath the truck's trailer. A woman in the car was airlifted from the scene. Officials did not release any information on her identity, or the extent of her injuries.

Police reopened the intestate after clearing the scene overnight.
