Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes says he still has not identified a man hit by a train in Nicholasville late Tuesday night.
The coroner says the man was standing on the tracks about a quarter mile south of the Baker Street crossing just before midnight when the train hit him. The coroner says the man was likely facing the train and it doesn't appear he tried to move before impact.
Officials say the man was between 30 and 50 years old, and he didn't have any ID on him. The coroner says he had the letter "D" tattooed on his forearm. He says dental records won't help because the victim either didn't have any teeth, or with the facial trauma, it was too difficult to tell.
