The influx of animals rescued from a Woodford County farm after an animal cruelty investigation has put a strain on the Woodford Humane Society.
Police charged Cheryl Ford with second degree animal cruelty charges after finding 16 dead horse, along with dead dogs, chickens and donkeys at the farm off Woodlake Road in Midway. Ford surrendered about 50 dogs and cats to authorities, and they will be brought to an already crowded Woodford County Humane Society facility.
Officials say many of the animals are underweight, but with a little care, they will soon be ready for adoption.
