Two cars collided on Interstate 64 in Shelby County this morning.

County law enforcement tells LEX18 the crash happened at around 8:30 near mile marker 45.

Officials say one car was turned over and first responders had to free someone from the vehicle.

A total of three people were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.

The road was shut down as first responders extradicted the vehicle passengers.

The Interstate has since been re-opened to traffic.
