A manufacturing plant in Jessamine County that is a supplier for Toyota will be closing, according published reports.

Jackson Plastics of Nicholasville, a manufacturer of plastic molding injections for the automotive industry and a tier-one supplier to Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Kentucky, will cease operations on April 30, idling more than 100 employees.

The company's closing is unrelated to current problems at Toyota according to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky spokesman Rick Hesterberg. "For Jackson Plastics they just had to make their own decisions about their own business," Hesterberg told Business Lexington.

The company, which listed $8.1 million in sales for 2008, was founded in 1994.
