A Johnson County man who had been previously named as a "person of interest" in the disappearance and subsequent discovery of the bodies of his parents was charged with murder in their deaths Wednesday.

Willie Blanton is charged in the death of Larry and Sandy Blanton, whose bodies were discovered back in February after being reported missing in September.

The Johnson County coroner tells LEX 18 that the couple found buried on their farm in late February died from "blunt force trauma."

The discovery of Larry and Sandy Blanton's bodies ended a five-month long search for the two, who were reported missing in September 2012.

Blanton's girlfriend, Amanda Fannin, eventually signed a plea agreement, meaning she cannot be charged and that, if found guilty, Willie Blanton cannot be sentenced to death.
