A Johnson County man has been formally indicted in the murder of his parents.
Willie Blanton is charged in the death of Larry and Sandy Blanton, whose bodies were discovered back in February after being reported missing in September.
The Johnson County coroner tells LEX 18 that the couple found buried on their farm in late February died from "blunt force trauma."
The discovery of Larry and Sandy Blanton's bodies ended a five-month long search for the two, who were reported missing in September 2012.
Blanton's girlfriend, Amanda Fannin, eventually signed a plea agreement, meaning she cannot be charged and that, if found guilty, Willie Blanton cannot be sentenced to death.
In court Friday, it was announced that Blanton's trial will be moved to Lawrence County, and a pre-trial hearing is set for May 3. The judge also ordered all charges, including previous ones concerning Blanton allegedly forging his parents' checks, to be combined.
