John Calipari had his first call-in radio show of the season Monday night and this is definitely what jumped out.

"Jon Hood looked like Rex Chapman in practice yesterday."

That's what Calipari said. He followed that up by saying both he and some of Hood's teammates had one thing to say.

"Do it in the game!"

There have been a few legendary practice players. Remember when Josh Carrier couldn't miss? It's all about confidence and if Hood can get some, he might be a vital part of this team's success.

When asked about going to play Portland on Friday night before heading to Maui, Cal said, "I'm scared to death!"

Cal said he was very pleased with the way his young team played against East Tennessee State, but he said their three-point shooting was so good that if they're off against Portland, who has one of the best three-point shooters in the nation, it could be a long night.
