So far, down the stretch in conference games on the road, this is a better team than last year. It's obvious. Being obvious to me or you, the True Blue fan is nice, what's important is, it's obvious to Terrence Jones
"Yeah, I just think we play with a lot more confidence at the end of games. Last year we played more scared to lose than really trying to play to win like we are this year,"says Terrence.
Talent is one thing. As Cal loves to say, he recruits the best of the best. If you want to take the best of the best to that next level, Jones believes that 'C' word, confidence, is better this year.
"Last year we just, guys didn't have the confidence in themselves to make plays that gives have in themselves to make plays this year. A lot of guys are stepping up and making free throws when it's clutch time, or shooting shots that I think last year guys just wouldn't shoot."
That's a really strong comment. And no, Jones isn't knocking anyone. He is saying that this years team has it, whatever the it factor is. As far as Jones, with his bad finger, it's still not right and it's the biggest adjustment he's had to make playing basketball.
"It's just real different but we're still winning and that's what matters."
Obviously, Jones wants to be healthy. But, he's happy because the Cats are winning and he's on the court hoping that at some point and time this season his hand gets better.
