"My freshman year when I couldn't make a left handed layup and I used to have to stay an hour after practice just to learn how to do it," says Josh Harrellson.

"And then I started making left handed layups, I forgot how to make a right hand layup."

No player on UK who was offered a scholarship that was less likely to end up playing with UK. As a freshman in high school, no one knew Josh would end up quitting his best sport, baseball, for basketball.

His freshman coach wanted to cut him but the varsity coach said wait a second, I see some potential in Josh. He went back and looked at the records. In 20 freshman games he fouled out in 19 and he couldn't even average two points a game.

Today there is no doubt he's the fans most popular player.

This might surprise many True Blue Fans. Josh credits Billy Gillispie for making him tougher, but he also spent halftime of a Vandy game in a bathroom stall thanks to Billy G. The former UK coach did have an odd way of motivating players.

And then there is his relationship with Cal.

"It's definitely been an up and down roller coaster ride with him just not knowing what he wants from you and finally figuring out what he wants and just going out there and doing it."

Cal is proud of what what Josh has done.

"And if any of you thought after watching us in Canada that he would have an impact on our season, then you need to be drug tested," says Cal.

Josh is a people person.

"I love kids. I got 3 nephews and I love them to death. I love hanging out with them. I think I'm little kid."

By accident at one of Cal's camps, Josh broke the leg of 11 year old Chandler Norfleet in a layup drill. They've become good friends. Josh is amazed what this 11 year old has done for him.

"He texts me all the time saying good job, good game right to my facebook wall, and stuff like that when he shouldn't be doing it. I should be doing that to him since I'm the one who injured him. But just seeing how much love he has for me now, puts a smile on my face."

Which is what Josh has done for many True Blue fans, put a smile on their face. Who doesn't hope that Josh has a big game against Vandy for Senior Day Tuesday night.
