A judge has decided no jail time will be needed for a Laurel County mother accused of leaving her young children alone.
Last week, police found 35-year-old Joyce Blanton's children home alone, and her at a neighbor's home. They say she was under the influence and told conflicting stories about where she had been. The children were released to their grandmother.
In court Tuesday, Blanton's charges were amended to endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication. The judge said Blanton can avoid any jail time if she stays out of trouble for two years.
