COVINGTON (AP) - A federal judge has refused to stay his order that a bus bench advertising company must remove its benches in Covington.
According to The Kentucky Enquirer, city officials have been trying to clear items they consider unsightly. Unauthorized pay telephones and vending machines have been removed in the last decade after the city targeted them.
Now, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky says riders waiting for the bus might have to stand at about 30 stops for a while.
Bench Billboard Co. has appealed the ruling against it to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The benches have ads on their backrests.
