Kent State comes out in the third quarter and pushes UK around on the ground.
Big Trayion Durham who is listed at 250 pounds goes 26 yards to finish a 9 play 75 yard drive that takes 4:26. With 10:34 to go in the third quarter, UK leads 17-14.
True Blue fans have to like this. Max Smith marches UK right down the field. After hitting 72% of his passes in the first half, Max hits 6 of 7 on the drive. Gene McCaskill with a leaping 18 yard TD catch and UK goes up 24-14. It's an 11 play 80 yard drive that takes 3:23.
UK's defense finally comes up with a big play. Martavius Neolms with a hit that should make ESPN. He separates the ball from Dri Archer and linebacker Miles Simpson recovers. UK takes it to the one, but on third and fourth down freshman Dyshawn Moberly is stopped by Kent State. UK then gets a break when Archer trips over his quarterback Spencer Keith for a safety. UK goes up 26-14.
UK with another explosive series. Jonathan George with his best play as a Cat going 38 yards. The TD run caps off a 4 play 57 yard drive. With 3:20 to go in the third quarter it's 33-14 UK. It's a 4 play 57 yard drive that takes :58 seconds.
UK adds another TD in the 4th quarter when Max Smith finds La'Rod King in the end zone. The 11 yard pass completes a 6 play 45 yard drive that takes 2:29. UK goes up 40-14.
And then the freshman who could be explosive. DeMarcus Sweat catches his first pass and does the rest on his own. 56 yards later it's 47-14 UK. The one play drive takes 13 seconds.
Max Smith was 30 of 39 for 354 yards and 4TD's.
Raymond Sanders had 115 yards on 13 carries.
Aaron Boyd was a star with 11 catches for 100 yards.
