Kentucky Man Dies After Motorcycle, Car Wreck

VERONA, Ky. (AP) - A northern Kentucky motorcyclist has died after a collision with a car on U.S. 42.

Boone County Sheriff's spokesman Tom Scheben says the 22-year-old man from Erlanger was riding a Suzuki motorcycle north on U.S. 42 in Verona at about 7:15 a.m. EDT Monday when the wreck happened.

Scheben says a 1997 Ford Taurus driven by 56-year-old Terry Gibson of Verona was stopped waiting to make a left turn onto eastbound U.S. 42. Gibson started to pull out, but stopped when he saw the motorcycle approaching.

Scheben says the motorcyclist braked, but couldn't avoid the car. Gibson was uninjured.

Scheben says the name of the motorcyclist was being withheld pending the notification of his family.
