(AP) - A welcome home ceremony is planned for Kentucky National Guard troops returning from Iraq.

The Kentucky Army National Guard says 167 soldiers are returning from Maysville-based 299th Chemical Company and Morehead-based 301st Chemical Company. A welcome home ceremony is being held Friday at Keeneland race track in Lexington.

The troops were part of a task force that arrived in Iraq June 2009 and provided protective service to the U.S. Department of State and the United Nations. The soldiers also supported security at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
