Kentucky went on a 23-5 run in the final 10:50 of the game to beat Auburn 68-53 Tuesday night at Auburn Arena. Kentucky (16-1, 2-0) trailed 47-45 before the run but clamped down defensively and hit several big shots to pull away late in the game.
Anthony Davis and Doron Lamb led the scoring with 14 points a piece. Marquis Teague and Terrence Jones both added 12 points. All four players plus Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Darius Miller came up with big plays during the team's second half run.
Davis tipped in consecutive offensive rebounds to regain the lead. Teague drove through the lane to hit a floater to put UK ahead 51-47 with 6:08 to play. Then Lamb and Miller knocked down three pointers to put the game away. Davis capped it with a two handed dunk of a Lamb lob that gave UK a 62-51 advantage.
UK next plays at Tennessee Saturday.
