Kristen joins the LEX 18 crew from Fort Wayne, Indiana where she previously worked as a general assignment reporter for WISE 33 News. What brings her to Lexington? A horse lover for many years, how could she pass up the horse capital of the world?! It's what got her into this business in the first place. During her quarter horse showing years in middle school, Kristen remembers Indianapolis reporter Anne Marie Tiernon coming to her house for a story about a virus cripling several horses in the area, including one of their own. Kristen watched as Anne Marie told the story that warned horse owners of the potentially deadly disease and decided she too, wanted to tell the stories affecting people's lives. She took that passion to DePauw University, where she began in radio, but fell in love with television news. That's where she also found another passion . . . travelling! A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presented itself at DePauw for Kristen to travel overseas to Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. Kava ceremonies in Fiji, exploring the beaches and Outback of Australia, (meeting 'The Crocodile Hunter'!) and canvassing the south island of New Zealand are some of the best memories of the trip, not to mention all the people she met from all corners of the world! 2007 was a big year for Kristen. In July, she married Lexington Police Officer Bryan Jared. The two met after the crash of Comair Flight 5191. Bryan was one of the first to respond to the August 27th crash and is credited with saving the life of the sole survivor, James Polehinke. December 5th, they welcomed their first child, Colton.

hi here at bridges&lane true value we do have sleds salt&shovels weve had at least 10 different counties in thestore last year you guys called us for salt and other stuff thankyou bridges&lane true value.

I've met Kristen a couple of times, and man, she's just about one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. I know people have bad days sometimes, and maybe she just happened to be having a bad day each time I met her, but if you're in the public eye like Kristen is then you always need to treat people with respect... we're the ones who watch your broadcasts and allow you to have a job.
