A Kentucky State Police trooper suffered minor injuries in a crash in Madison County Tuesday night.
Police say Trooper Anthony Trotter was heading back to the post to finish up paperwork around 11 p.m. when another driver turned in front of him along the Eastern Bypass near I-75. Investigators say there was a heavy downpour at the time and the other driver simply didn't see the oncoming cruiser.
"The cruiser is probably a loss at this point. Luckily, there are very minor injuries at this time to the trooper with airbags going off. Very fortunate no one in the other vehicle was injured." KSP Sgt. Steven Owen said.
Police say they don't expect to file any charges.
Officials say Trotter is a five-year KSP veteran.
