RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a Madison County Detention Center inmate.
Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison told the Richmond Register (http://bit.ly/TqWBWl) that 28-year-old Charles Franklin Hoffman of Hastings, Mich., was pronounced dead at the jail at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Hoffman was being held as a fugitive from Michigan, where he was wanted on a parole violation.
Kentucky State Police Post 7 spokesman Trooper Paul Blanton said the detective investigating the death believes that Hoffman likely took his own life.
The official cause of death will not be known until after an autopsy is performed.
