Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) highway crews have been plowing and treating roadways in a handful of eastern counties, especially at higher elevations.

In Harlan County, crews reported a foot of snow on Black Mountain (KY 160), nearly 6 inches on Pine Mountain (U.S. 421) and 3 inches on Leatherwood Mountain (KY 221).

Crews had to aid some stranded motorists on Black Mountain Monday night, and U.S. 23 in Letcher County was temporarily impassable.

Plowing continues today in Harlan County. Elsewhere, crews are plowing affected routes in Letcher, Pike and Martin counties and treating or spot-treating roads in Floyd, Magoffin and Perry counties.
