Gusty winds are causing blowing and drifting snow in all eight counties of District 5. This is resulting in some routes being partly covered again. With the exception of Jefferson and Spencer counties, crews are salting and plowing while reporting partly covered to mostly covered routes.
Jefferson County has a few icy spots and crews are treating those areas. Spencer County crews are pushing back slush along the shoulders.
In some areas our contract crews have been released from duty. KYTC will have road crews on duty all night to treat roadways as needed. Motorists need to be aware of potential for black ice and slow down.
