The sunshine has been a welcome sight Monday afternoon and coupled with salt has sped up the snow melting process.
KYTC road crews have spent most of the day working on their "A" routes (interstates, US highways and other high volume roadways) to get them down to wet pavement.
Now crews are salting and plowing on the "B" and "C" routes (secondary and rural roadways) which are still partly covered. State crews will continue working into the evening hours to get as much snow off the roads before sunset and the temperatures get much colder. They will continue to monitor road conditions this evening and treat routes as necessary.
