LEXINGTON. (January 24, 2013) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) personnel are monitoring weather conditions closely. District 7 crews pre-treated roadways in Central Kentucky yesterday.
District 7 forces will report at 3:00 a.m. on Friday morning to patrol and treat roadways as necessary. Contract trucks will join KYTC crews at 4:00 a.m. The contractors supplement the highway maintenance crews to ensure that roads are in the best possible condition.
Motorists should always use extra caution when driving in cold and wet weather. Bridges and overpasses typically freeze before surface-level roadways.
