SOMERSET (AP) - High speed powerboats are returning to Lake Cumberland this month.
The Center for Rural Development in Somerset says the boats will be in southcentral Kentucky for three days beginning June 4 for the Lake Cumberland Grand Prix 2010. It's the second consecutive year the Offshore Super Series has raced on the lake.
The boats will compete on a 4.8 mile course in the bend of Lake Cumberland near the Waitsboro Recreation Area. Race coordinator Larry Combs says it's "like NASCAR on water."
