The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways announced Monday that temporary lane closures are in effect for the Bluegrass Parkway in Anderson County. The closures are necessary for overlay work to be completed for the east and westbound bridges.
Lane closures in effect:
• westbound bridge (lane closures in effect Monday, September 10 through Wednesday, October 10)
• eastbound bridge (lanes will reopen on Wednesday, September 19)
The location of overlay work for the bridges is mile point 61.895 (at the Kentucky River) on the Bluegrass Parkway. Appropriate signage is in place to alert and guide the traveling public.
One lane on both sides is open at all times during the work for both bridges.
All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
