Last Chance To Sign Up For Thanksgiving Basket With God's Pantry Food Bank

Open registrations are scheduled for Fayette County families who wish to receive a Thanksgiving basket through the Sharing Thanksgiving program of God’s Pantry Food Bank. Last year, more than 4,400 families were served through the Sharing Thanksgiving Program.

Individuals who have not registered through a social service agency by the October 8 deadline may attend open registrations on Friday, October 15, Monday, October 18 or Wednesday, October 20 to sign up.

Each basket includes a 12-14 lb. turkey, dressing mix and other items a family in need can use to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Baskets are distributed during scheduled times the week of Thanksgiving. Families who register for a basket at open registration will receive a letter with pick-up information in the coming weeks.

Open Registration will be held at the following locations:

Friday, October 15 St. Luke United Methodist Church Pantry
2351 Alumni Dr.
1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Monday, October 18 Broadway Christian Church Pantry
187 N. Broadway
3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, October 20 Central Christian Church Pantry
219 E. Short St.
1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The following information is required for registration:

  • Name and social security number of all adults in household (18 years and older)
  • Photo identification
  • Verification of children in household (SSN card, birth certificate, etc.)
  • Verification of Fayette County address and income
  • Current phone number
