At least three people were hurt in a school bus crash this afternoon in Lexington.
It happened around 4:30 on Todds Road near the intersection of Mcfarland Lane. As of right now, officials say one child was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and two adults were transported.
Police say a car speeding side-swiped the bus, causing the driver to lose control.
Fayette County Schools spokesperson tells LEX 18 this was a bus full of students with special needs headed home from Edythe J. Hayes Middle School. Five kids were on the bus at the time of the crash. One student complained of some pain and was taken by family to the hospital. The adult monitor was taken via ambulance and the driver of the other car was also transported.
Lexington Police ask that drivers avoid Todds Road for at least two hours.
