A Laurel County man is in jail after allegedly shooting a gun from his apartment into his neighbor's home, narrowly missing the occupants.
It happened on the 800 block of American Greeting Card Road in Corbin.
Karen Hollin says she left the living room of her home just ten minutes before a bullet hole appeared in her living room ceiling.
"The ceiling was lying like, on the floor and on the couch. It was really scary," says Hollin.
Police say her upstairs neighbor, Kenneth Adams, accidentally fired the bullet into his floor while he was cleaning up a spill. Adams told police he was cleaning beer off his gun case when the gun went off.
Police say that's not the only place alcohol was present. They say Adams had a strong odor of alcohol and there were several beer cans on his coffee table.
The bullet hole was shot through his coffee table and his floor into Karen's apartment, right where she and her granddaugther sleep at night.
Adams is charged with first degree wanton endangerment and second degree criminal mischief.
