A Laurel County man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death over a trip to McDonald's has been formally indicted on murder charges in the case.
According to her father, Pamela Sue Bobbitt, 25, went to McDonald's with her sister back in October. When she returned home to the Plantation Apartments on U.S. 25 in London, her boyfriend, Sean Messer, 34, became angry because she spent money on hamburgers. Bobbitt's father said Messer wanted the money for pills.
Bobbitt's father says Messer attacked Pamela Bobbitt outside of the apartment and began stabbing her. Her sister witnessed the attack, along with her two children. Witnesses say the attack continued inside the apartment until Messer finally ran from the scene.
Officials say Bobbitt suffered multiple stab wounds. EMS took her to the hospital, where she died.
Officers chased Messer. They couldn't catch up with him, but investigators say they learned his car was at a dealership for service. Officers staked it out, and he showed up with a spare key to get the car about two hours later and was arrested.
Messer is charged with murder, domestic violence, fleeing and evading police and being a persistent felony offender.
