Most interesting assignment? I've had so many that it's hard to mention just one. For six months I followed Cincinnati police recruits through the academy. It was an eye-opening experience. Because of the personal involvement, you get attached to the trainers and recruits. So attached that every time you hear of a police officer injured, you wonder if it's someone you know. I think police officers show tremendous dedication to their job and justice.
Other information: I enjoy my job. I love the competitiveness of it. I never know what story I'm covering from one day to the next. I love the spontaneity of it. I meet so many interesting people and yes, animals!

Hi Leigh!
This is Christine Sauer. I talked to you twice yesterday about the family in Georgetown that lost their home. Just filling you in. I emailed and called Southland Christian Church to see if they wanted to be involved in helping this family. They started this new series last week and its focus is to radically change the lives that are in need with not only support, prayer and love but also helping them financially. I put in a nomination for this family. I am hoping I hear from them tomorrow. If you hear from the family or Margie tomorrow, please let me know. I really want this family to get the help they really need. Thank you!

just wanted to ask a question that most parents would find interesting. u here on the news all the time how kids treat other kids in school system how come u all never do a report on how teachers treat the kids i have noticed this alot dont u and other parents wonder how there kid is treated behind close doors in a classroom they are alot of teachers really good teachers then u got ur bad apples in the bushel. and its always the students fault. You can talk to the teacher and the princepal about this stuff but who do they belive 99.9% of the time its the students fault i just wanted to get ur ideal on this it would make great story for u just to investigate some of the shcools around and see wat u come out with u would be very surprised about wat u would learn in the school system .
Kara Newberg at Jun 29th 2010 5:39 AM
Hi, Leigh... My name is Kara Newberg. I don't know if you remember me or not, but my brother Keith Newberg was murdered in August of 2004 by James Adam Clem. You were covering the trial and spoke with my family often during that time in the summer of 2006. Clem received 10 years for manslaughter 2nd and I was writing to let you know that he was released early and we were not notified by the prosecutor's office or the victim's advocates as they were supposed to BEFORE his release. I have been trying to contact them and I am going to continue to try to contact them on this matter. I am very upset that we were not notified. I'm not implying that he would, but what if he held a resentment towards anyone in my family and was to come after one of us and we were unprepared because we had no idea that he was released. We were signed up on the VINE Line and that didn't notify us either. Please get back to me when you can. Thank you - 859-967-9474
