Police have made an arrest after a woman was found dead along the side of the road in Letcher County early Thursday morning.

Officials say Connie Elswick, 35, was found dead along Cram Creek Road in Mayking around 3:30 a.m. Investigators are looking into the possibility she was hit by a vehicle, but have not determined a cause of death.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday in Frankfort. So far, police have not released the name of the person arrested but say wanton endangerment charges have been filed.
