We first told you about reports of people posing as ADT Security representatives Friday afternoon. Since then, we've received calls from several counties reporting similar incidents. The latest come from Beacon Hill Road in Lexington.
The folks who live at the end of Beacon Hill Road knew something was wrong when someone who claimed to be with ADT Security came to their home. Timothy Goforth and his girlfriend say one man stayed behind in a van, while the other approached the house. "He got persistent with me and started to become aggressive and said no really we're not about sales and he took steps toward me until he was four feet away," Sarah Edmundson said.
The couple says nearly all of their neighbors have experienced something similar. They contacted LEX 18 after they saw us report something similar in Franklin County earlier Friday.
ADT says they're not sure what the imposters are up to, but it's definitely not on the up and up. They also say you should ask for picture ID and a business card. Representatives are required to carry those documents.

I too had the same experience at the Pinnacle neighborhood in Lexington, Kentucky. This occurred approximately 1-2 weeks ago. My husband was at work. Two men, approximately 18-23 years of age, came to my door and told me they worked for ADT. They both had uniforms on and were carrying clipboards. They told me if I agreed to put the ADT sign in my yard, they would install a system for free in my home. I declined the offer. I did not see a van of any sort - they appeared to be on foot.

My husband had two people approach him last week. All they wanted to do was to place a sign in our yard. My husband didn't feel like this was right so he declined as well. This is very strange.

My next door neighbor had this happen to him about a month ago and he declined, but it didn't end there. That weekend someone tried to break in his back door and then weekend someone tried to break into our back door. Thank God for deadbolts.
