Firefighters say a blaze in a Lexington apartment Sunday afternoon was arson.

Witnesses first spotted smoke pouring from the apartment on Appian Way around 2 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly and there were no reported injuries.

A witness later told investigators somebody broke into an unoccupied apartment and set two fires inside. Officials say the apartment had been vacant for about a month.

Investigators have not named any suspects.
