Lexington Crews Restocked, Prepared For Snow

City officials in Lexington said they're ready for the rain and the snow, especially after restocking their salt supply.

A supervisor with the city road department said the above freezing temperatures worked in their favor as they continued pre-treating the roads from yesterday.

Trucks were loaded up this morning trying to keep the roads clear.

Friday afternoon, city officials reminded everyone to be careful on the roads.

Plenty of salt to go around for both the city and the state, which has used 60 percent more salt this winter than all of last year.

The concern for road crews overnight is the possibility of a refreeze which creates black ice.
