One Lexington group is making sure the men and women fighting overseas have a special holiday season.

Monday night, Operation S.E.N.D. Christmas began producing care packages for soldiers. The packages include everything from gift-wrapped snacks to toiletries. Organizers said most importantly, the care packages will include letters and cards to let those fighting for our rights know how much they're appreciated.

Last year, the organization sent out more than 1,200 packages. Their goal this year is 2,000.
