Lexington Man Accused Of Firing At Ex-Girlfriend Pleads Not Guilty

A Lexington man charged with firing shots at his ex-girlfriend Thursday pleaded not guilty in the case Friday.

Officers were called to the Two Keys Apartments at South Lime and Pine Street near UK's campus Friday morning. According to police, Jessie James Boone, Jr., 24, fired at least one shot at his ex-girlfriend as she was leaving after an argument. She was not hit.

Police say Boone surrendered after trying to escape through his third-story window. boone is charged with wanton endangerment, evidence tampering and drug possession. he will be back in court again February 15.
