Lexington Man Charged In August Robbery, Shooting Pleads Not Guilty

A man Lexington police arrested Thursday in connection with an August robbery and shooting pleaded not guilty in the case Friday.

According to court documents, Marcus Antwan Chambers, 27, shot a man in front of a house along 12th Street back on Aug. 29.

According to the arrest warrant, the victim told police a man known as "Polo" shot him. The victim said he met the suspect intending to complete a drug deal, but Polo pulled a gun and demanded property. When the victim refused and ran for the door, the suspect shot him in the back.

EMS took the victim to UK Hospital for treatment.

Court documents indicate police used phone records to identify Polo as Chambers.

Chambers faces a first-degree robbery charge.
